Elegant Wedding at the Warwick Melrose Hotel in Dallas
The couple met through Great Expectations. Introduced in August 2011, they met for dinner on their first date at The Landmark restaurant at the Warkwick Melrose Hotel. After dinner the couple took a stroll observing the downtown Dallas nightlife. By the end of their evening they knew they were a match. They thought it apropos to celebrate their wedding where their romance was born.
Inspiration
The theme of the wedding was dark colors with light emanating from hanging lanterns. In keeping with their winter wedding, the inspiration with the dark colors was that the light would guide them to the right path.
The Dress
With the grace of a ballerina, Stephanie glisaded down the aisle in her captivating off-the-shoulder Allure wedding dress. Not interested in a veil, Stephanie wanted her gown to take center stage. She purchased the gown from the Laughing Willow in the Arts District.
The Wedding Cakes
The wedding cakes were designed and created by Dallas Affaires Cake Company and Sugarless Delite. The bride’s cake was a white four tier beauty with beaded swags. The groom’s cake was an homage to golf. It was frosted with green and purple icing.
The Ketubah
The beautiful Jewish document the couple signed is the Ketubah. As with many Jewish traditions, the Ketubah has deep significance for the couple. The Ketubah is intended for protection for the wife. It represents an agreed upon amount to be paid to the bride in the case of divorce or death of the husband. Further, it created a disincentive for the husband to divorce as he would have to pay the agreed upon amount upon the dissolution of the marriage. In addition to the Ketubah, the couple had the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass.
